Gloomy morning

P1283181, originally uploaded by mirsavio.

Haifa is located in the distance of about 40 km from Lebanis border.
One hour of driving from Haifa and you will arrive to
the Rosh HA Nikra and from there only 120 km to Beirut.
So close. Day before there were rocket bombardments from Lebanon.
The voices of sirens accompanied by rocket explosions are very unplesant.
But we were not afraid. Nasralla fuck off. We will continue to live and
lough and to thrive. Nothing doing.
In this morning I wake up early. It was Saturday-the day of my brake.
As usual I took my camera and went to the Carmel mount.
It is only the place where possible to catch cloudy sky in the morning during the warm Israeli summer.
This clouds are the result of air streams from Mediterranean Sea
and are dispersed during some hours.
I took some shoots of this alone tree from the ground level in order
to eliminate unnecessary things in the frame.
The result you can see.

Bat Galim again

P9014573, originally uploaded by mirsavio.

It was very hot Mediterranean evening.
Bat Galim beach in Haifa after sunset.
The see was not calm and sky was so dramatic.
In my opinion the keen photographer can't miss such a scene.
I put my camera with 4x polariser on the lens on tripod and turned it to the lowest 50 ISO level. The longest possible exposure is needed. With apperture 8(it is smallest that can be obtained in my camera) I took some shoots.
In this one I managed to catch the mood.
I think so.
One israeli guy wrote in hebrew in my Flickr page that he had never thougt that Bat Galim beach may be seen in such a way.

Landscape of Galilee

Landscape of Galilee, originally uploaded by mirsavio.

I like mists. You can see it while you are browsing my photos.
The mist enable you to obtain specific mood in your shots. The atmosphere and filling of space become much more tangible.
There are some technical problems of taking such a pictures.
The main one is low contrast.
But possibilities of modern digital cameras and postporocessing with PS help you to overcome this problem.
Before taking picture I put histogram option of my camera on.
It is very helpful option in many cases.
The histogram "told" me to take exposure compensation -0.3 in order to bring the histogram to "proper" position and prevent overexposing of bright areas.
In my further publications I will share with you my experience of PS processing.
Enjoy the picture.

The flower carpet.

The previous image seems a little beat gloomy, isn't it? So, I decided to publish something much more cheerful and colourful.
Such a landscape is a big rarity at the end of Israeli summer.
The main colour in this period is yellow. The fields are empty and remnants of green are remorselessly burnt by sun.
But in see of yellow I managed to find a small island full of colours.
The flower beds carefully poured on by moshav (agricultural community) citizens are cheere for eyes.

The downtown

The downtown in Haifa.
The old crumbling house and tree that is striving to sky.
